Before Using a Rental Car
What should I do before I start using the rental car?
First of all – thank you for deciding to go on a trip with a rental car from TopRent. And we’d recommend to take some time to get acquainted with the car you will be using:
- Check the type of fuel type: it will be stated in the contract, marked on the key fob and indicated on the cap of the fuel tank.
- Learn how to control the headlights and parking brake, how to turn on the radio.
- Adjust seats, mirrors, steering wheel position.
- You can take photos of the car before picking it up and once again before returning it, so that at the end of the car rental period there are no misunderstandings about the condition of the rented car.
- Fasten your seat belt and we wish you a safe and pleasant trip!

Traveling with Children
Can I rent a child car seat?
We understand your need to travel with your family and children and we are making sure that your travels are safe, so we can offer seats for children according to age: a seat-cradle for children from 0 to 4 years (or from 0 to 18 kg) and a booster seat for children from 4 to 12 years. You can choose the seats during the reservation.
Booking & Payment
Do I need a credit card to make an online booking?
The credit card is not required to make online booking. You will only pay for the rental car when you pick up the car. We are not charging for anything in advance and thus the credit card details are not needed for booking a rental car online. Book your car now.
When is the security deposit released?
We reserve the deposit on your bank card (Visa or MasterCard). The bank usually withdraws the reservation automatically within 14 working days, counting from the start of the reservation.
Can I reserve a specific car model?
Usually, most of the cars are in our car park. However the company reserves the right to change your selected car to the same sized or a bigger one. For example, if you have chosen Ford Fiesta, which is economy-class car and we have confirmed your reservation, but Ford Fiesta is not available at that moment, we would rent you VW Polo which is also economy-class car.
Cancellations & Changes
What is the cancellation policy?
A booking can be cancelled free of charge at least 24 hours before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, if the payment was already made towards the rental – it will be refunded.
If the booking is cancelled in less than 24 hours of the rental start the cancellation charge shall be the amount of the rental charge (including any extras and charges) for 3 rental days.

There are no refunds for unused reservation days.
How can I extend my car rental?
It’s quick and easy to extend the car rent, you just need to book online the same car that you’re currently driving. The other way to extend the rent is to call our managers by phone or sent an email:

Returns, Delays & Flights
Can I return the car at night or early in the morning?
Returning a rented car before an early flight is very easy: come to Riga airport RIX , Vilnius airport VNO, Kaunas airport KUN, Palanga airport PLQ or Tallinn airport TLL. Find the same parking lot where you picked up your rental car and leave your locked car there. All airport parking lots have a built-in license plate recognition system that will read the number of the rented car and raise the barrier. Parking for rental cars is free and you will not incur any additional costs. Put the car key in the safe box, which you will find near the car rental office.
What if I can’t return the car on time?
We understand that things happen in life that we cannot plan for. Traffic jams, an unexpectedly blocked road, or a ferry leaving too late can prolong the journey and you may not be able to return the car at the time specified in the car rent contract. If it happens, please inform the car rental manager as soon as possible by phone: for Lietuvā +370 61 655 336, Latvijā + 371 28 660 022 vai Igaunijā +372 56 562 435. We apply a one-hour tolerance limit to our customers, which means that after notifying the manager, you will be able to return the car free of charge one hour later than specified in the contract.
What if my flight is delayed?
Your reserved car will be waiting for you even if your flight is delayed. Car rental managers working at Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports are always monitoring flight information and will be waiting for you, even if you arrive later. Please provide the flight number when booking online, as it makes the car rental process smoother. If you have already made the reservation, but haven’t added the flight number, you can provide it later by phone or email.
Is it possible to rent a car 24/7?
Car pick-up is 24/7 at airport locations. Our manager will be waiting for you at our office on agreed time (14.45€ additional fee of delivery outside working hours will be added if the reservation is after 11 PM).

What do I need to rent a car?
- Valid driver’s license
- Passport or national ID card
- Valid credit card (Visa or MasterCard)

What is the minimum age to rent a car?
If you left any item in the car you rented from TopRent car rental company, we will pick it up and store it for at least one month. During that time, you should contact the managers to arrange a pick up. Please double check the car before returning it and make sure you’re not leaving sunglasses, a computer, a phone, clothes, shoes, or even ice-skates. All these and many more other items have been found in the trunks and under the car seats of the rental cars, and successfully returned to the owners.

The one-way fee applies in both directions.
Forgotten Items
What if I left something in the car?
We store forgotten items for at least 1 month. Contact our team to arrange collection. Always double-check the car before returning it.
